Introducing our special 5th color: White1
When it comes to printing labels on metallic or clear poly materials, things work a bit differently compared to printing on regular poly or paper materials. With these unique materials, we don’t have white ink built-in, so we use an additional white ink called White1. Without this 5th color, your label will maintain its metallic or transparent look.
THE PINK MASK
Sometimes when you receive a file from us, you may notice a PINK mask in the design, but don’t be confused! This pink shade actually represents the 5th color, it acts as a visual indicator for the printer, guiding them on where to apply the white ink. Think of it as a mask that helps ensure precise placement, and it will be printed as white ink.
If you have a graphic artist working on your project, they will need to set up a “PINK” swatch to represent the 5th color. Please contact us to setup a tutorial.
Once the 5th color swatch is properly set up, the WHITE color in your artwork file will actually become transparent, without any color. This allows the background material, such as the metallic silver or clear poly, to shine through, creating a captivating effect.
